Why the Technician Never Reaches Freedom

n our society, we’re taught that the path to freedom is to climb the ladder of achievement in our education – getting degrees or licenses to cultivate a highly specialized skill set that will eventually pay off with a larger salary.
But will that actually bring you financial freedom? Probably not.
Specialized skills can earn you a lot of money. But it’s hard to turn that hard-earned money into something that actually grows.
Most people don’t know how to get there because they’ve only focused on growing their technical capabilities. But in order to achieve true financial freedom, you have to create a balance between your technical skills and knowledge.
If your first step was getting through school and then getting into a great career or profession, that’s a great start… but step two needs to be learning an outside skill like how to orchestrate your own financial future.
You need to learn how to put the dollars you’ve traded your time for into assets – not financial products,, but assets that can grow your equity and net worth, like businesses and real estate.
I’ve personally found you can build your net worth much faster through alternative investments than working from your own technical expertise.
Yes, both are important, but you need to take the sole focus off of being a faster, more efficient you. Eventually, you’re going to wear out and be done, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. If it’s all on you to produce the income, you don’t have freedom. You have a job.
If you want freedom, you have to develop the skills necessary to build your own future wealth.
