How do we gain clarity in life… clarity on taking steps, pursuing goals, and ultimately on transforming our life?
Early in life, we are indoctrinated very quickly into the school system – a pathway of education that takes us from kindergarten to elementary school to high school to college and so on.
Whatever our goals are, there has always been a prescribed pathway, with tests along the way that assess our supposed competency.
There’s always this sequence in how to get from Point A to Point B, and it’s very cut and dry.
We know exactly what our goal is and how to get there.
And we know when we have reached that goal because we get diplomas, certificates, degrees, etc.
But here’s the irony…
We work so hard to get to a certain point in our life because that is supposed to be the highest level of achievement (whether it’s getting our degree, beginning our career, starting a family, or something else.)
And, once we hit that “high point”, we think we’re done and we will just live our life and start accumulating.
But, where does it go from there?
The problem is that it doesn’t.
Most people get on that treadmill, a turnstyle, a hamster wheel, and keep repeating the same things over and over again.
There is no next.
What is that next level – a big pile of money? What is truly the end goal?
Most people have no idea what it looks like, or even how to get there.
To me, Freedom is that next level. Freedom means having options.
Options to do what you want to do, when you want to do it, and with whom you want to do it with.
Many people think that the next level is retirement; but the problem is that retirement keeps getting pushed back.
Back in the day – some 10, 15 years ago – the average age for dentists to retire was 62.
Today it’s 68.9 years – more than 10% longer.
It is tough out there today, but we have it all backwards. We could do it so much faster.
I’ve proven it in my own life, and it’s been proven by the other practitioners in Freedom Founders who have become “Free for Life.”
Once you’re Free for Life, whether you continue in practice or not is up to you.
What does that next look like? You will never know what “next” looks like if you aren’t free.
Most people will never find out.
Clarity is essential. One of the best ways to gain clarity is through other people, such as through a mastermind group.
We all have blind spots.
We need to have other people weigh in and help shape our thoughts so we can gain that clarity.
If we try to do everything by ourselves in a vacuum, it just stays muddled and we will never get to that next level.
If you want clarity and freedom, then you have to get it with the right people.
You don’t ever want to be the smartest person in the room.
Find people who have similar goals, who can push you to be better, and to think differently.
After all, it’s the way we think that changes everything.
