Embrace Risk

Let’s talk about embracing your failures.  Are you kidding? Who wants to talk about failure? When we fail, we feel like we aren’t up to par – like we’re less than, or not sufficient in life.  But you’ve got to take that away: failure is your biggest learning opportunity.  If you don’t take some risks in life, you’re never going to get to the next level, because it’s never a straight shot. Just because you’re intelligent, willing to work hard, and you’ve reached the goal of say, getting your dental license, it doesn’t mean you take your foot off the pedal!  You’ve got to keep moving forward. I use failure, testing, and setbacks in the same framework.  Don’t push them away or be afraid of them. When you learn to embrace failure, you’ll be able to quickly pick yourself up and take what you’ve learned to the next level.  You’ll keep moving forward and never look back. The ones who play it safe never really live life.  So get over that! Get yourself into an environment with others who are striving forward, who promote testing and taking risks, and are willing to share what they’ve learned from their successes and failures.
