We talk a lot about getting to your freedom point sooner rather than later.
What is the freedom point for most people? It’s what we call retirement age.
In the traditional model, we are supposed to get the education, get the career and then work for 35 years until we get to retirement age – which is ideally around our 60’s.
My premise is that your freedom point is when you can do what you want to do, when you want to do it, and with whom you want to do it.
This might seem like a pipe dream to a lot of people who don’t see any way off the treadmill.
I was at the same place.
The only thing I did differently is that I got started in real estate while I was still in dental school.
I worked at my practice and I did real estate on the side.
I had mentors who helped a great deal. Over time, that real estate compounding worked.
It created the cash flow and the network equity that allowed me to go free.
This is what I call …
Plan B.
It was a little bit of luck and intention that it worked out back then.
But I now realize your “luck” in real estate has a lot to do with your network – the people you are connected to.
Real estate is an inefficient marketplace. It’s a slow model.
But you can leverage in real estate, so you can make up for lost time.
Wall street is an efficient and volatile market, which is hard to become successful in.
Real estate is all about who you know. It’s all about connections.
It’s not about true partnerships. It’s about strategic joint alliances.
I invest through other people who have track records, and who I have vetted.
That is the way to do it, and it saves me a lot of time.
Money can buy you time.
But you can’t get there until you leverage up and build a network and equity that will give you the cash flow that allows you to have that freedom.
And you want to get to freedom sooner rather than later.

Real estate is not an alternative to what is not working in your life – if there’s something off in your practice or business, it still needs to be fixed.
