Opportunity cost is a benefit that one could receive, but instead, gives up in order to pursue some other course of action.
There are a host of activities, actions, and opportunities that any of us can partake in anytime – no matter the day, month, or year.
And these opportunities are always available.
If you are anything like me, then you are someone who is driven.
It’s in your DNA to create, to grow, to seek challenges, to expand, and to have impact.
But how do we do that? How do we get laser-focused on the right course of action to take?
There are so many opportunities out there, and we can’t do them all.
We need to have the right clarity and focus on the opportunities that we do choose to pursue.
Recently a younger dentist and his wife became members of Freedom Founders.
It’s always a great experience for me to work with younger professionals, because it’s a chance to help them in many different ways.
Older professionals like myself have insight into how things will work out in the future, since many of us have a wealth of experience to draw from.
I personally enjoy seeing younger people in mastermind groups, since it shows they are wise enough to seek help from others, who can guide them in the right direction.
An example of this is with the younger dentist who recently joined Freedom Founders.
He had one too many projects that he was pursuing, and he was lacking a lot of clarity and focus.
I knew with the right clarity and feedback from other group members, he would be unstoppable.
What’s really great about a mastermind group is that there are no ulterior motives, since members are never promoting or selling anything.
And I find it wonderful that this younger dentist will now be able to get his important questions answered by experienced members of the group, who have his best interest at heart, and can give him the feedback that he desperately needs.
The feedback from other members in a mastermind group is invaluable to guiding one’s focus.
We can all benefit from the focus and clarity that other like-minded individuals bring.
The group is like your board of directors, and your best insurance policy.
The relationships that I have made in my mastermind groups are the most important things I have.
These people who I have met are rock-solid; they are my tribe, and they understand my drive and my weaknesses.
The right mastermind group can help direct and guide anyone towards success.
You have to ask yourself, what are the opportunity costs that you have given up in your life, and what have they cost you?
More importantly, how can you mitigate those costs in the future?
We are never going to be perfect, but having the right people around to advise and guide us to make the best decisions possible is key.
